DS9-Crew in new uniforms

DS9-Crew

As done by so many other customizers, I had to make the DS9-crew in their new uniforms, too. Sisko and O'Brien use the Insurrection Riker-body, Bashir an Insurrection Picard-body and Dax of course an Insurrection Troi-body.

Another custom that's been done by so many people, Ezri Dax using a movie-Troi-body and an Ilia-head.

Commander Sisko in TNG uniform

Commander Benjamin Sisko

At the beginning of the DS9 pilot episode Emissary, Sisko was seen wearing the uniform from The Next Generation. Playmates did in fact release a special Sisko-figure in that uniform as a special mail-away, using a re-tooled Sisko in DS9 uniform. I never got hold of that figure, as it is very rare and rather expensive here in Germany.

For my own version of Sisko in TNG uniform I used parts from several different figures. Head and arms come from a Sisko in dress uniform (I had used the legs and torso for an Admiral Pressman-figure); the torso is from a Picard in uniform, the legs come from a male Voyager body, Tuvok, Paris or the Doctor (I can't remember which). I find that the legs work pretty well with this torso and have used them on a few customs using this body.

Random DS9 crewmembers

Random DS9 crewmembers

As with all other shows, I like to have a few background characters for displaying them with the main characters.

These random crewmembers were made from different figures. Starting left: Dr. Who 12th Doctor on a Q in DS9-uniform-body makes a passable starship captain visiting the promenade. Lt. Hathaway is a shrunken 1/6th scale Anne Hathaway-head on a repainted Dax body. Ensign Ford is a SeaQuest Ford-head on a repainted Bashir body. In front of him is a Dr. Who Toby-head on a re-painted Sisko-figure. Behind him is a heavily resculpted head (Andorian face glued to another head) on an O'Brien torso with Chakotay arms and Generations Riker legs. For the science department we have a SeaQuest O'Neill-head on a Bashir-body.  Lt. Hitchcock is a SeaQuest Hitchcock-head on a repainted Dax body. The guy behind her is a Jurassic Park Robert Muldoon-head on an O'Brien-body with Chakotay-arms. Next to him is a shrunken and resculpted Bele head on a Sisko body. And of course Odo needed some help, so I made a Bajoran security officer with a Primeval James Lester-head on an Odo-body. I re-sculpted the nose and gave him an earring.

I find that some other figure waves, especially the SeaQuest-line and the Dr. Who figures, are great resources for parts, especially heads...

Garak in Cardassian uniform

Garak

Garak (or rather his mirror universe version) was seen sporting the Cardassian uniform in Crossover and the following mirror universe episodes. I still need to make the emblem, but other than that, it's a pretty simple custom: Garak's head on a Dukat body.

Damar, Kira in Starfleet uniform and Gul Dukat

Damar, Kira and Dukat

A few of the newest customs in my collection: Damar's head sculpt was made by the great CRM Customs (check him out on Facebook, he's awesome).

Kira has a new hairstyle and was put onto a movie Troi-body for how she appeared in the final few episodes of DS9, sporting a starfleet uniform and aiding the Cardassian revolution.

And Dukat was a custom I desperately had wanted to make for quite some time, as I have never been a fan of the original Dukat figure (there was no resemblance whatsoever). So I finally got hold of a 9" Dukat which is a great likeness to Alaimo's Cardassian Gul and shrunk the head.

Lt. Watley from "Trials and Tribbleations"

Lieutenant Watley

"Your flap's open. You're draining power..." must be a great pick-up line in the 23rd century. Remember the luscious Lieutenant flirting with Dr. Bashir in the turbolift onboard the NCC 1701?

I've repainted an Uhura-body, since I find this body more appropriate for the curvacious Lieutenant. The head comes from a Dr. Who Rose-figure. I sculpted the ears and hairdo with apoxie.
